I read tons of books every year, but this year, I am absolutely sure about the best books I read in 2019. They are two: one written by a traditionally published author and another one written by a self-published author. Well, the best books I read in 2019 are: The Painted Bridge, by Wendy Wallace and The Certain Hope by E. C. Jackson.  Those are two fiction books written by women and with unforgettable female characters. The Painted Bridge is the poignant story of a woman who tempted to save sailors from a shipwreck and who is interned by her husband in an asylum during the kingdom of Queen Victoria, an age where women were denied every human right.
