Read the translation into English at the end of the post.
Dear authors and readers, I have just come back from holidays and I resumed to update my literary blog. I would have wanted to write a new book review to begin (I have several reviews to publish) but during my holidays, namely in the past weeks, my beautiful Italy was struck by an awful earthquake. This natural catastrophe occurred in the Central Italy, I live in the South Italy, that is another seismic Italian land. The fault which caused and still is causing shocks is the same that crosses my region.
I think that when certain events happen, words are needless, it is better a prayer or a poem, that is like a heartfelt prayer. For this reason, just today, on the occasion of this new upgrade of Advicesbooks, I published the video with the Italian poem written by Paolo Santini and dedicated to Amatrice, the town struck by the earthquake and the famous land of the likewise famous spaghetti to the Amatriciana. I have also translated the poem into English, in order to make these words understood by foreign readers.
For Amatrice by Paolo Santini translated into English
Evil monster, coward betrayer, that lies under the ground plotting your moves, you are not
longer satisfied to spread terror and only to the hangman you entrust your shocks.
Bruised tears, moved by grief, but you are still swarming as if nothing happened.
The earth shivers where it still lies the grieved soul that can’t find any peace.
But, despite all, there is a peace, a new sun filled with hope, the world opens its arms and a
new flame gives birth to the fire of brotherhood.
It seems that every heart searches, in the chest, for more room to keep so much substance.
The world moves much more than the earth. This is the love that replies to the war!
( Translation by Rosalba Mancuso)
In memory of all victims of the earthquake that struck Italy.
