Achilla The Strong by Grant Miller

Achilla The Strong is a story about how Achilla Johnson, an abnormally gifted but troubled girl, manages her teenage years. Achilla grows up in Bridgeport, Connecticut with her mother, Ailina Harris, but she does not know her father. At eleven years old, she runs into Brendan Johnson after her basketball game; one that ends after Achilla beats up a girl on the opposing team. Noticing her impressive strength, Brendan recognizes her as Ailina’s daughter, and consequently his child.

Brendan wins custody over Achilla, and she realizes that all of the negative things Ailina said about him are false. She also realizes just how different she is from other kids her age. Thanks to Ailina’s DNA and her regimented, often abusive, training, Achilla has the power and skill of ten men, but she fears that she is still no match for her former master’s savage strength.

When Ailina threatens Achilla’s new family, Achilla must choose to join her or fight; a choice that could mean a painful death. Will Achilla join Ailina or defend her new home? Will she die in defense of her family, or will she defeat Ailina once and for all? Read Achilla The Strong to find out!
