asecretmuseinanitalianlibraryToday, I am glad to announce again I added a new book in English in an Italian library. This time, the book is A Secret Muse by Mandy Jackson-Beverly. I have already reviewed the book in Italian and written a press release, also. This, instead, is the press release about the book added to the Italian library. I added this work last week. As usual, I took my car and brought the paper version of a Secret Muse to the library of my country, namely the municipal library of Grammichele, Sicily, Italy.

I explained the plot to the librarians who said to me they are cataloguing this new book in English in order to make it available to be read by Italian adults and students who want to improve the English language. Also a Secret Muse is a gift who the author wanted to donate to Italians. The plot, indeed, runs between Los Angeles and the most beautiful hamlets in Italy, namely Florence and San Gimignano, the latter is a medieval town in the district of Siena. Both of the cities are also the birthplaces of the Italian Renaissance, as it proved by stunning churches, manors, castles and monuments.

The story is an elegant mystery seasoned with a dash of horror. The main character is an art teacher and painter Coco Rhodes, who a day receives a letter from her mother dead when she was four years old. After this shocking letter, Coco demands explanations to her brother Christopher, a powerful lawyer in Washington, DC who suggests that the sister undertakes an upsetting journey to Italy to discover the truth about her past. From this stage, the book takes a wonderful twist and shows a style of writing very similar to the one of Dan Brown.

The talent of Mandy Jackson-Beverly has also been proved by the fact the book has been listed by Amazon among the top 100 best sellers in paranormal suspense. Secret codes and mysterious truths kept by the Allegiance, a vampire sect based in Italy, are, indeed, the charming background of a Secret Muse where is also room for compelling love stories between vampires and human beings.

A Secret Muse is a book that catches you from the first to the last page. I mentioned the plot to the librarians who confirmed me Italians love this kind of plot very much. Now, I am sure, many adults and students will read a Secret Muse. The librarians were also very curious about author Mandy Jackson-Beverly when I told she was also the stylist of David Bowie, Madonna and Tina Turner. I believe Italian readers have already sent a great hug to Mandy, while I am sure the author is already sending her good reading wishes to her new Italian readers.

About the author: Mandy Jackson-Beverly was born in the small and secluded town of Pyramid Hill, Victoria, Australia. This remote childhood kick-started Mandy’s imagination, as did the rugged coastline and rolling hills of Tasmania, where her family relocated when she was four years old. In 1982, Mandy moved to London, where she discovered the importance of the creative collective: The 1980s fashion scene. In Los Angeles, she found her own creative freedom among the thriving, no-holds-barred visionaries of the music video world. As a costume designer and stylist Mandy worked for photographer Herb Ritts, and directors Joel and Ethan Coen, David Fincher, and Julien Temple, and music icons such as David Bowie, Madonna, and Tina Turner.
